There are a lot of local car auctions in the United States. The inspecting your car at the car auction is a very important part of the buying process. Inspecting will allow you to see what you are buying before you pay any money. You may want to use a mechanic to do this, as they will perform a very detailed inspection of the car you are interested in. You can be present if you like, as this will give you the chance to ask questions if you like.

Though using a mechanic is the best way to do an inspection, you can do it yourself if you are experienced and confident enough. However, there are many parts of the car to inspect, which makes it nearly impossible for beginners. If you inspect yourself, make sure you look at the bottom of the car, the interior, the control system, electrical system, wheels and be sure that everything is in working order. If the car has been well maintained, you shouldn’t have a problem looking everything over.

There are some salvage cars at the local car auction. The engine should also be checked, as it is very important to the car. If you don’t know a lot about car engines, you should get a mechanic to look over it for you. You may want to do this anyway, as the engine can be very tough to inspect.

If everything is excellent, it’s time to take a test drive. Before you fire up the engine, check to see if it’s already warm. If the engine has trouble starting or smokes when cold, the auction staff could have warmed up the engine prior to you arriving to disguise any problems. Make sure you also test that all the instruments are working correctly, then run the engine for a period of time to see if it overheats.

Finally, if the car you are planning to buy doesn’t pass any of your tests, don’t rule it out just yet. Please remember, there are many local car auctions near your city. If you are willing to put both time and money into making things work, you can use any problems as bargaining tools to try and get a lower price on the car.

Always up for a challenge, the UPS automotive team in the city of Langenhagen, Germany converted a seventeen year old, retired UPS package car into a powerful racing truck. The UPSers replaced the engine (the four cyl-inders were replaced by a V8 engine with 425hp). The package car was fit-ted with a new rear axle, a flashy bumper, two exhaust pipes, new springs, fatter tires, chrome rims and a new drivers cab. The racing truck makeover did not end there: UPS worked with the Media Design Academy in Düssel-dorf, Germany to find a matching skin for the tuned package car. Help answer the question about car engine

Why would sugar ruin your car engine when mixed into your fuel tank?
Someone told me people use this as prank. They said that when the person turns on the car and runs it, that it ruins the engine. What exactly happens when you do this?
I'm not planning on doing it on anybody. I was just curious on what exactly goes on in the engine.
